To become a member of the Community, an entity must be established within the Member States and demonstrate that it can contribute to the mission of the ECCC.
In addition, a security assessment will be carried out as well as an assessment whether the exemption criteria on the basis of Article 136 of the Financial Regulation (EU) 2018/1046 are met. Finally, it will be considered whether the entity has expertise in the field of cybersecurity. The expertise should relate to at least one of the following areas:
(a) Academic expertise or expertise in research and/or innovation.
(b) Industrial or product development.
(c) Expertise in the field of training/education.
(d) Expertise in information security and/or incident response operations.
(e) Expertise in ethical issues.
(f) Expertise in formal and technical standardisation and specifications.
