Successful completion of the 2nd Cybersecurity for ALL Festival
The event was held as part of the European Cybersecurity Month, which promotes the connection of citizens, organizations, and institutions throughout the European Union to enhance the significance of cybersecurity across all sectors of society.
The event focused on raising awareness among children, inspiring youth to consider careers in cybersecurity, and helping parents safeguard their children online.
During the first two days of the event, October 16 and 17, the festival hosted organized visits from primary schools. More than 250 students had the opportunity to explore the world of cybersecurity through interactive activities, hands-on workshops, and educational games. Among these, the highly popular HackShield captured the children's interest, encouraging them through a fun and engaging approach to become "cyber heroes" by learning how to protect themselves online. These activities highlighted the importance of developing digital skills and responsible online behavior from an early age.
On October 18, the Festival opened its doors to the general public. Thousands of visitors had the opportunity to learn about online child protection, explore the career opportunities offered in the field of cybersecurity, and discover practical ways to avoid online scams. The strong attendance and public interest highlighted the growing need for continuous awareness and education around digital security.
Representatives from significant entities and organizations participated with booths at the festival, including:
- University of Cyprus
- Cyprus Police – Cyber Crime Sub-Directorate
- Cyprus Computer Society
- Cyprus Safer Internet Centre
