Following the initiative of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), and in collaboration with the Digital Security Authority and NCC-CY, co-organized the Cybersecurity Weekend, which took place from April 12th to 14th, 2024, at the Radisson Beach Resort in Larnaca. This event marks another year of partnership, building upon the success of the previous edition in 2022. A total of 20 individuals from 10 companies participated in the Cybersecurity Weekend, with representatives from both management and technical teams.

Cybersecurity Weekend
The first day commenced with a welcome speech, introducing the purpose and objectives of the Cybersecurity Weekend, alongside opportunities for networking.
Throughout the second day, participants received comprehensive briefings on various cyber security issues from experts in political, cultural, and technical domains. Mr. Costas Eftymiou, Senior Cyber Security Engineer of Regulation, Strategy, and Supervision, provided insights into the role of the Digital Security Authority. Mr. Polis Peratikos, Team Leader of NCC-CY, elaborated on the objectives and operations of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center (NCC-CY), including funding schemes and community initiatives. Mrs. Christiana Piperidou, Digital Security Engineer, addressed the cyberspace landscape of Cyprus. Additionally, there was a presentation by Mrs. Athena Panayiotou, General Director of Cyprus Organisation for Standardization (CYS), on ISO 27001, an international standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), providing guidelines for organizations to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve their information security practices. Mr. Elias Pafitis, Digital Security Engineer, introduced Security Operations Center to the participants and new measures and trends on threat intelligence.
On the third and final day of the event, B2B meetings were held that provided organisations with the opportunity to discuss topics including the current threat landscape, best practices exchange, incident response and future trends regarding cybersecurity.
