Within the framework of the International Safer Internet Day, the Digital Security Authority (DSA) participated in the Workshop "Together for a better internet", which took place on 11 February 2025, at the Latsia High School Amphitheatre and the Sports Centre "Sotiris Messios".
The Safer Internet Day is organized every February to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among children and young people.
The Day was organised by the Pedagogical Institute of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, with the support of the partners of the Internet Safety Centre - CyberSafety.
DSA participated with a specially designed station, which included promotional material and gifts for students. As part of the event, a presentation on Phishing was held, where a real-life scenario of code stealing was analysed and the GetSafeOnline platform for detecting suspicious phishing addresses and informative videos on cybersecurity were presented.
After the presentation, students were able to compete in a cybersecurity knowledge game through the Kahoot platform using tablets.
Approximately 150 students participated in the workshop, divided into two groups: 70 from Primary Education and 70 from Secondary/Technical Education.
During the event, the students cycled through five stations in one hour, with 10 minutes at each station. The activities were adapted to their age level and focused on new technologies and internet safety.
The workshop was an excellent opportunity for students to learn through hands-on activities about the dangers of the internet and to acquire knowledge and skills that will help them to navigate more safely in the digital world.
