On 17 December 2025, at the ICT Academy of the Office of the Commissioner for Communications, the Stakeholders Meeting in the Cybersecurity Sector took place.
The meeting was attended by over 120 participants, including representatives of relevant Ministries, organizations, key and important entities, academic institutions and experts, with the aim of exchanging views and strengthening cooperation between the stakeholders involved.
At the opening of the meeting, greetings were delivered by the Deputy Minister for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Mr. Nicodemos Damianou, PhD, and the Commissioner for Communications, Mr. George Michaelides.
The event also included a presentation by Mr. Guido Lobrano on “Challenges and Opportunities in the EU Tech Rulebook – An Industry Perspective”, offering an in-depth look at the opportunities and challenges arising from new European legislation and technological developments.
The Communications Commissioner then presented an in-depth review of the major projects and key milestones that defined the course of the Digital Security Authority during the period 2017–2025, highlighting the main achievements, strategic initiatives and challenges faced, as well as their impact on the modernisation of national cybersecurity policy.
As part of the briefing, the “Next Day in Cybersecurity” was presented through a panel discussion with the participation of the Head and Heads of the Authority, during which the four main pillars of cybersecurity were analyzed: critical infrastructure, small and medium-sized enterprises, product certification and society and the citizen. The discussion focused on the strategic priorities, challenges and opportunities for each sector, with the aim of strengthening national security in the digital space and promoting a holistic approach to cybersecurity.
Subsequently, Dr. Panagiotis Barkas presented the topic “Overview of ENISA Support Action and Cyber Reserve”, providing an in-depth overview of ENISA’s support actions and the role of the Cyber Reserve. In addition, Mr. Panayiotis Kyriakides presented the analysis of the Cyber Threat Landscape 2023–2025, while Dr. George Hadjichristofi analyzed the National Cyber Threat Landscape for 2025.
Finally, Mr. Polyvios Hadjiyiangou referred to the actions and support provided by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), while discussing the role of the European cybersecurity community, focusing on coordination and strengthening cooperation between agencies.
